Cary Paul, Partnering Consultant with Impact 21 Group, is the founder and owner of The Village Circle Company, a management consulting firm specializing team facilitation based in Traverse City, MI. Village Circle serves clients throughout the U.S.
Cary is an expert in creating and delivering facilitated sessions that are energetic, innovative and experiential. He has worked with teams, large groups, and executives, all of varying educational levels, technical backgrounds, industries, and disciplines. He facilitates in small intimate settings, in large conference facilities, via conference calls and on-line meetings, and everything in between. He has facilitated product development sessions, brainstorming and work review sessions, software development planning session, team building sessions, and multiple sessions where critical business decisions depended on the consensus building of Cary as the facilitator. Clients have included Siemens, Chevron, BE Aerospace, ITT, Booz Allen, Department of the Navy, Department of Defense, Treasury Department, Indian Motorcycle, and Harris Corporation. He also has guest service and performance experience with The Walt Disney Company.
Cary also has over seven years of change management experience, beginning with his studies of organizational development in his MBA curriculum. During that time, Mr. Paul was instructed and mentored by management expert Jerry B. Harvey, author of the well known concept of The Abilene Paradox. Practical experience in change management includes extensive training, communication, and interpersonal interaction with executives, managers, and teams – as they experience new procedures and technologies in the workplace. Cary’s change management experience includes engagements with Pivotal-Insight, Suntiva Consulting, Veritas Consulting, American Management Systems, HuthwaiteGroup, and the aforementioned federal government clients. He managed and facilitated the development of strategic plans within business units of Department of Justice, Department of Navy, Department of Defense, and Department of Agriculture. He has managed the entire strategic planning process, from defining client problems and identifying potential opportunities, to leading small and large scale facilitation efforts, to documenting results and implementing action plans.
Cary has an MBA (Organizational Development and Information Technology, George Washington University), a BS (Industrial Engineering, Penn State University) and over 13 years of experience in strategic planning, team facilitation, balanced scorecard, change management, and process improvement
